Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha! Nice one Mike; Geez, can you get over how young he looks............I know it's hitting on 30 years but would you believe me if I said he hasn't changed a bit..........at least in my eyes he hasn't changed. Remember one new year in the wee hours we were stolen from our beds and transported to the swimming pool; I think my dad and yours climbed the wall; unlocked the door and let us kids in.............

No Mike; The one I'm talking about my mom was dressed in a boys school uniform; shorts, cap and all and your mom was dressed in pale blue shorts with a matching short sleeve shirt/jacket; I think she had a cap on as well.....I'll try and get the pic for you.............
Come to think of it, I've seen other pictures of our folks in fancy dress; our dads in dresses and stuff.........Geez do you think they were cross dressers and we, being so young just thought they were going to partys???

Is there even a 7th avenue in O'mund???

Aunty Rhona... I now swim 30 lengths a day in the town pool... next week will see me pushing 50 a day... this now entitles me to booze and eat at will...... I am redeemed!

Title: Re: ATT: Rhona!
Post by: Rhona on February 16, 2008, 06:16:26 PM
3o lengths; hey that's good going Mike........Does the life gaurd still swim beside you or are you allowed go it alone? What is the goal?.........Everyone needs a target to aim for, a bit of an insentive..... so what do you say to 1000 lengths and you get sponsored so much per length for the charity of your choice..............be it the 'Gout Scmout' charity or 'Cancer Research' you name it.............and give the date that you'll complete the challenge...........I'll give you R1 per length.............Are you in?
Title: Re: ATT: Rhona!
Post by: Michael Alexander on February 18, 2008, 08:15:52 PM
A fool and her money are soon parted..... hehehehe! .... I'm nowhere near that yet....it will take at least 6 months to get into shape... and me being the lazy sod that I am...... Will not get past the 120 mark....

On a similar topic, there is a swim for life charity swim that is done in the School pool here sometime in the year, kids and adults all join in..... maybe I'll start there first.....

The coward I am..... Sigh!

Title: Re: ATT: Rhona!
Post by: Rhona on February 18, 2008, 08:25:15 PM
Start with the charity swim - see it as a practice run............you know what, I'm a nice person..........you say it would take you at least 6months to reach the target.........let's say Boxing day, for you to do your 1000 lengths, if you do it I pay up and if you don't, well then either you pay the charity or I'll Kick your ass (the choice is mine)..........maybe to make this more interesting we should set up a seperate topic so more people can sponsor you............go on; you know you love the challenge...
Title: Re: ATT: Rhona!

1000 lengths would be a whole day event, when would I have time to have a beer or two, who will water the garden.... Ahem! ..... I'll think about it..... can I use armbands?

Title: Re: ATT: Rhona!
Post by: Dalene Steenkamp (Coetzee) on February 18, 2008, 08:31:52 PM
I got a plan>   Mike you swim the lengths, Rhona can keep track and I will have the beers and water the garden for you.  I might get tired just watching you swim, so that's why I opt for this solution to your problem.
Title: Re: ATT: Rhona!
Post by: Michael Alexander on February 18, 2008, 08:33:03 PM
I'm not keen on your plan, I think I'm being taken for a swim here... who's paying for these beers...?

Title: Re: ATT: Rhona!
Post by: Rhona on February 18, 2008, 08:38:20 PM
Course you can use arm bands; and maybe the pole dancing girls could be your cheer-leaders and I tell you what; I'll even do the count for you...........if 1000 is unrealistic, WE can always drop the figure to 999........now do you see how nice I am? The beers will be on us as well as the braai...........we'll even cook the bloody thing for you; so all you have to do AFTER you've completed the swim is guzzle freebies.............and Dalene will water the garden. Hey Dalene, do you think it's a good idea?

Does it not concern you two, that I am a walkng Heart attack in the making..... 1000 lengths, or 99 is liable to send me to my maker a tad before my time.... beerboep amd all....
Title: Re: ATT: Rhona!
Post by: Rhona on February 19, 2008, 01:36:45 PM
the catch is Mike you have to train for the event..........okay! okay! I'll play nice.........500 lengths at R2 per length; and so you only have half the distance and I still pay out the same money to the 'Gout Schmout' foundation.............the beer and braai are still on me; I will also count your lengths and the girls are still game to cheer you on.............Boxing day Mike, that gives you 10months to train...........come on my friend; you know you want to........
