Just a small warning of the latest way criminals operate --very inventive!!

The criminal dress in black & cover themselves in black bags & then get into your property (or wait on the pavement). When SAPS or the neighbourhood watch drive pass they crouch down on the ground to make it look like a full black rubbish bag.SAPS etc ignore the "black bags" & drive pass.The criminals then either wait for the home owner to come home ---to hijack them or proceed to break into the house.
Please be aware & beware of "moving" black bags!!! --particularly on rubbish removal days.
PS:The neighbourhood watch member who noticed this wouldn't have known any different if one of the bags hadn't moved & if he wasn't vigilant

A friend of mine who got mugged  commented on how " they just seemed to materialise out of the cracks in the pavement "  yes we must be forever vigilant , not  fearful , just aware of our surroundings at all times ..  , fear attracts them ,  you look  like the  weak animal in the herd to the predator ...  Since that  botched hijacking  a few years ago I always keep my eyes open when coming home and if I feel in anyway uncomfortable , I drive around the block again and survey ....

My eldest son got a very nice , expensive casio watch from his dad for his birthday. It seems the maid has stolen it but we can't prove anything. Is there a place on this planet where you can live in harmony and not have to worry about black bags etc.?

I know of a guy in Omund who worked for Security..... He put a covert camera in his lounge and caught his domestic eating his sweets.......

I have considered doing that too. Someone I knew years ago left the farm to go to town but remembered something left behind. The maid didn't hear him come back and he walked in on her brushing her teeth with his toothbrush. She got such a fright she wet herself. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.

The big one in Windhoek a few months back...the domestic left her cellphone at one of the houses where she worked.... the owner of the house saw the cellphone and thought it quite a fancy one... so played around with it.... lo and behold, there were video clips of his house on it...the safe, the alarm, the tv, the dvd player etc..... there were also video clips of similar items of the other houses where this domestic worked..... and on top of it all..there was a video clip of the domestic herself...the only difference this time, was that she now spoke english fluently ...not the Eh! I dunnit enderstand wat u is saying.....

Suddenly the phone went off..it was the domestic looking for her phone..... needless to say the domestic was let go.... and alarms were changed...

Yeah Mike,and they want to know why we are still here? safest town on the planet,as for the plastic bags we don't have them any more as we have these huge bins, they gonna have a nasty surprise if they wanna hide in there as i line mine out with doom...hhahaha hic. ,as for the cameras...... they work .. really ,just ask old Mike.

Thought I'd just post this here....last Thursday we had an armed robbery at the bussiness 3 doors down from me. The owner was followed from the bank and held up in their office on returning. Fortunatley no-body was hurt.
This morning at 10a.m. Fedility Guards were shot at and robbed on leaving Pick and Pay on Boy de Goede Circle (for those Table Viewers on the forum) this is about 100meters from my house.
Scary in that I usualy drop Morgan at school on the corner and would be walking into Pick and Pay at that exact time. This morning my mom and I decided to take her to Jimmy Jungle instead....so thank goodness for that.
Apparently a guard is in critical condition after being shot in the head. Not sure if he is from the security van or the guy that stands at the door of Pick and Pay.
