Are there any plumbers out there that might remember these pipes there are two of them they look like vent pipes for the sewerage that was pumped to sea before the days of the sewerage treatment farm if you line them up on google earth you end up at the main sewerage station in 5th ave accross from the mine store.

Too true .. crayfish ...  shellfish .. pigs of the  sea ..  same for chickens  in  natural free range state .. a friend of mine  who  had a  smallholding farm  used to  give his chickens  the cat droppings from  litter boxes .. hoo boy did they fight for  fair share ..  there is a story   I read where a guy staying on  an island ..  polynesia I think .. the tribal locals  would  do toilet when the tide  was coming in  in the morning  and  evening ...   as they were doing  the deed on the beach they had  to be  careful  of their tender bits cos there was a squabble  between the  chickens  the pigs and  of course the crabs  who   all got used to the routine ..  and would  wait  in anticipation .. ifnot carefull they  would  get nipped .. pecked  or worse  so .. well pigs in a frenzy .. might lose the  wors ...

Good story here Alfred,
Back when I was an appie working at 4Plt EM W/shop I remember picking great big tomatoes and taking them back to the workshop for cheese/onion & tomatoe sandwiche's, every one enjoying them until  answering the question of where did I get the tomatoes.

There was an oasis out in the desert, where there is a stand pipe that occasionally used to overflow ( I was advised what the stand pipe conveyed - still the tomatoes grew wild)

Alfred Boehme

Yes Clive I recall at the new sewer works on the southern side of those trees the tomatoes used to grow wild and the most tasty one's to quite amazing what poo does to crayfish and tomatoes.

Are those pipes on the mine side?
