A lot of (ex)Oranjemunders have sent me emails in the last 24hrs, letting me know about the sudden death of Dick. He died of a heart attack yesterday morning at 03h00.

From my point I always enjoyed the banter with Dick about the quality of our favourite beer, Windhoek Lager... these debates started when he became the barman of the Snooker and Darts, carried on at the bowling club on the few times I visited and were extensive in the shop...

It is always sad to hear of the passing of a fellow Oranjemunder no matter where in the world they are.. our thoughts go out to Denise and the family......

Agreed Mike, and condolences to Denise & Family from the Symes family.

John Hall let me know this morning, I verified it with him later and was going to Mail you when he said you most proberly already in the know. Looks as if he was right.
I'm sure there will be people, willing to share their memories and stories of Dick.

Denise was the birdlady down the bottom of 9th ave, and Dick was passionate about that bloody beer.....

One should always remember the good times and celebrate a person's life, rather than mourn the passing of a person.... time for a party.....!

Spoken like a true Scotsman.

Or is it the Irish, that have the longest wake ??

I asked Dick a couple of times "Where's Denise?"
His answer: "Just above the ankles"

A private joke.....between me and Dick.

God Bless.....

Denise - stay strong.....
