After all of the talk about potentially large oil reserves in Namibia drilling has finally started.  Chariot Oil has started drilling in the far north and more blocks are sure to be drilled by other operators.  Initial results are expected to be announced in the second half of June.

No doubt the drilling will gradually move southwards and hopefully we will see some big companies start drilling down here in the near future as I have heard rumors of potential oil off the Southern Coast here.

Large helicopter operators have applied for operating permits to set up in Namibia to support the rigs that will be moving in and are waiting for them to be issued in the next couple of months.

Certainly good news for Namibia as a whole.  Exciting times.....!
