Like many people in Oranjemund, we moved into one of the 'new' houses after a few years in town and went through the process of transforming the garden from a desert into a green haven. Below of photos taken 2 years apart showing how things changed between Nov '80 and Nov '82.

Mike, you'll notice how the fence was raised to stop people peeping over it. Yes, my dad obviously had some secret life that he didn't want others to know about ...

For the garden or for raising the fence? The fence things made many people laugh in Oranjemund.
