Mike S ,  this is quite a mouth full. Just my few cent's worth , After being hospitalised , a Tai doc told me that during the recuperation period , one should drink green tee , brewed in warm water +/- 70 - 80 degrees C - not boiling . and sweetened with honey  to taste . and to steer clear of sugar products , gas cooldrink and coffee . He said nothing about Whiskey though   . Since there was a language problem - he told his story with a lot of arm /hand waving and funny noises . But I got the message
