As a young explorer of Oranjemund and the surrounding desert in the 70's , one of the best places to source tadpoles was down at the Moth Club!

Well, actually not the Moths, but rather the thin treeline that separated the Moth's from the Soccer Club (Now Hockey Club).... there was a leaking pipe that formed a rather large pond and in this "lake" we local boys would spend many an hour fishing for tadpoles...... this pond was here for many years...

Why do I suddenly recall this memory.....

Well yesterday, whilst driving past the southern end of the Hockey field, on the road between the School Swimming pool and the field, Michele mentioned to me that on the previous evening, whilst waiting for one of the offspring to finish swimming practice, Kelvin and a few of the other youngsters were across the road from the pool , playing near a rather muddy pond..... and the excitement focused around the fact that there were tadpoles to be hunted..... real live , wild tadpoles......

I smiled, memories came flooding back from thirty odd years ago..... wondering if these modern tadpoles were related to the tadpoles from up north, you know, the Moths Tadpoles.....

Reading this and thinking of how my older two children enjoyed their toddlerhood in O'mund... my youth....my hooligan days and finding the loverbugger I've had for 37yrs .....sometimes I would like/wish to be back.......but then besides the fact of being to old to change jobs....I wonder if it would be the same.
