We loved that bread. Far some reason my mom never bought it though.

Maybe the bread had the stigma of being a "Black" bread, kinda like brown bread used to have....

Quite stupid of us in those days. I think we only had white bread and occasionaly whole wheat my mom would bake now and then. But then she gave up one day, cause we kids were always moaning.
Nowadays it's the other way round. Hardly eat white bread.

I don't think that owambo bread was available as freely as the other types in those days. It was mostly distributed at the owambo hostel opposite the hospital. You could however buy coupons for it and have it delivered with your normal milk and bread delivery. I used to eat it by the ton in those days.
