The Boarding School Issue!

I never said this and don't have any proof....but heard this on the floor yesterday afternoon... The mine was stopping the  practice of paying for Grade 8 boarding school fee's next year.... I heard the whole boarding school thing of sending Oranjemund kids away to school costs the company 7 million a year..... Grade 8 is meant to start here in January and people reckon that this a way to "force" those kids to stay at OPS....

Some even suggested that the standards set by the grade 8 will be lower than outside.... I find this tale to be utter tosh..... OPS still has a very high standard and would want to maintain this throughout all levels....

They are busy building a high school in Rosh Pinah I would say the building is about half way in completetion and they are already taking applicants for next year also saw someone in rosh pinah who had been to see the high school in Keetmanshoop, they told me that the high school is opening next year and they are using the same clases they are not building any more just shifting children around. I believe the standards will be maintained and will be quite high.After all there is an education ministry who will check on the standards

Just spoke to my first Grade 8 (std 6) OPS to be pupil.... Mwaala Kalenga.....was booked to go to Karibib private school and has just declared to me that he is happy to be staying on at OPS.......
