What a feeling this morning, after 3 months of minimal to zero movement of haul trucks total silence was broken today, Haul truck running back and forth between 4 plt and 3 plt drumming there sounds into MA1 atmosphere oooo did it feel good.

Alfred  is 3plant up and running again????????  Should tell daddy georg and he will come back and run it again...lol.

@Chris, what era are you referring to? I know it was mothballed in the early 80's (?) ,then recommissioned in the late 80's.
It was up and very much running when I was an appie in the early 90's.
Had a big set back in mid 2007? The main MCC in the the building housing the CCR and the Central HT substation burnt down. Only the HT sub and LV incomer switch room and transformer bays (all on the ground floor) survived the blaze.
New MCC's (Containerised units) were built and the Trafo's moved to the new MCC's. The plant was running again I think in November the same year.
All production was halted in April until now. You may have heard about the 3 month production holiday in the media. There are numerous recent posts on the forum about the break.
So, yea as Alf puts it, music to our ears to hear the rumbling of haul trucks again. It's a positive sign... well for now that is...

Hi, I believe 3# was put into mothballs in early 1981 but after some major maintenance was opened again in 1987 and apart from the fire in 2007 has been very productive.
