Dogs Galore!

Somebody mentioned this to me about 5 weeks ago and I did'nt pay much attention to it, but the other evening whilst going for an evening stroll, Michele and I came across this small wee tiny cute fluffy puppy, lost, wandering the streets.......

It was pointed out, that in the haste for folk to accept their retrenchment packages and get their belongings into the nearest ADVANCE truck, a number of dogs/cats were abandoned in the town.,..... left to the elements.......

Now the question being asked, is there anyone out there that still does the job of the local mutt catcher....

now   you got me going ...    When one takes on  an  animal friend  be it a cat  or dog ,,  you  in effect  are literally taking a dependant  for life  " child " into your home ,, it gives unconditional love  regards you as the alpha  will protect your children  ( ok mostly dogs ) but yes   one  then owes  this   being  the same loyalty  that it gives you , to just abandon  when you have to move on is as great a  crime ( sin ) as abandoning a child ... seen it all the cute pup from the pet shop becomes a liability ... when  we  moved into  woodstock had   in the early 80's when all the wild cats moved on in our home trusting us to look  after them and their  young  finding them good homes  ( of course  doing the responsible thing  and having them sterilised  thereafter ) .. I used to monitor  the  new homes  and if I heard one gripe  : ie  " the kittens running up and  down the curtains "  would  curse them and take it back home  and look for again for a home that  understood that  there is a " penalty "   ie   some wreckage  in the home associated with  having young  animal friends ...   chewed  shoes , shredded  furnishing  etc .. if you did  not  know  it then  you were not brought up in  a normal home  ,, maybe a clinic ????   for those that abandon their animals ...   heres my wish ....   MAY  YOU BE TAKEN FROM ALL  YOUR COMFORT  OF  YOUR  HAPPY HOME AND   DUMPED  IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE  PREFERABLY  WITH   MINIMAL WATER AVAILABLE  AND LEFT  TO YOUR  OWN DEVICES //    pet shops  should also be legally  required  to  do followup  on the  cute puppies and  kittens that they sell to  folk  that buy them for their unappreciative kids ...  when i  chose my first  dog at the age of 6 my Dad told me  " Son  he's your  friend and companion   you will learn to feed  him  , bath him and excercise him  and love him back in the same way he is  going to love you ... My  dads wise words ... Thanks Da ...

I absolutely agree Sandy. To have a pet is a commitment that should be taken seriously. I believe you can judge the character of a person by the way they treat there pets.

I have a saying  Diana ...   "  Society  is  judged  on the way it takes care of its  young , the aged and its  animal friends " ....   thats  my stance ...
