Yacht Club On Tender!

Sorry, I forgot to mention this, but the Mine has put the Yacht club out for tender to any interested parties that wish to develop/utilize the place..... There was a site visit, I think on Tuesday for interested parties. A few local business types turned up..... it's gonna get interesting down there, wonder if they will be allowed to mine for diamonds in that pan?

I reckon there might be a small fortune in lost watches and wallets at the bottom of that pan....

After all these years the watches would be encrusted in salt....... maybe that would be a job for WD 40..................

I know for a fact there is an almost new Enterprise mainsail down there which I lost overboard during a fairly heavy easterly and, though I trawled for weeks after, could never find. How could we lose a sail you might ask. We were sailing with a storm jib only. The mainsail was fully reefed but the easterly was still threatening to lash the crew to death with the boom. So the sail was unclewed and slid out of the boom guides for rolling and stowing under the foredeck. At least that was the plan. Just as it was fully rolled the wind took it. My veral nuwe mainsail was last seen disappearing under the waves.

Bob, how deep was the pan back in the day? When we sailed there in the mid 80's it was shallow, you could walk chest deep in most of the places and were never in danger of losing something as big as a sail......
