Here is the other big event for this weekend, The Desert 300. There are 73 folk coming to Oranjemund for this event.

Great way to market the town, pity some narrow minded people in certain Government institutions don't understand this.

Seems one of the team leaders from Cape Town is threatening to pull out his group of 18 people, as he cannot get the Ministry to grant him a permit to enter Oranjemund, as he has a record for....wait....wait for it, letting of fireworks in a non designated area somewhere in SOuth AfricA..... The said individual has already been here twice already, with the fireworks offence, but this time somebody is putting up a wall.....

How pathetic that some folk in a position of power are unable to look outside their box and see the bigger picture..... Our town is about to lose N$30 000 from the local economy if that group cannot get into town......

Thats my 2 cents for my red tape day.....
