Heard this tale this morning....

Turns out one of the empty mine houses that was recently renovated, with new carpets got raided by vandals....

The offroad club wanted to rent a few of the mine houses for visitors taking part in this weekend 's Diamond 300 rally..... on inspecting the houses it appears that some person had broken into the recently renovated house, taken a stanley knife and cut the brand new carpets out of the floor....

Two things spring to my mind......

1) Roll on proclamation, it will only get worse......

2) If the mine reduced the rental on the houses or market them on the outside for rental, we would have more people "looking" after the buildings.....

Just a thought, I wonder if the criminals will be caught, I reckon those carpets have passed Windhoek already....
