Sad moment, after 4 years of residing in Oranjemund, Local aviator and Shark Supporter.... Sean & Shirley and the girls depart for Botswana 2morrow Morning..... like most, they meant to stay for 2 years and extended it for four....  Sean contributed to this forum on a number of occasions and we hope he will stay in touch with us once he has settled down in his new home.....

Sean

Well after a long journey we are finally in our new house in Botswana amongst a sea of boxes!

The amazing thing is that after reluctantly moving to Oranjemund from Durban and, I admit, initially wondering who in their right mind would actually WANT to live there it was terrible to leave.  I've realised that it is the people in Oranjemund that make it such a special place.  From Pete Shout taking the time to write to us before we arrived and help us get settled in at the beginning, to the online community on this forum and all of the other people that are doing amazing things on the ground.  We made some wonderful friends that we a going to miss a lot.  And of course a big thanks to Mike for all he does for the community.  He may be a Cheetahs supporter but hey, nobody's perfect!

In the end we had to leave for greener pastures and new opportunities but it was (is!) with a heavy heart.  Thank you to all Oranjemunders for a special time there that we will never forget!

thnx

Thanks for the acknowledgement, Sean.  I'm delighted that I played a part in persuading you to join our community despite all the negativity you'd been overwhelmed with!!  It was great getting to know you all and let's not forget that the World's a very small place - I have no doubt that some of us will cross paths again at some stage in the future.  Maybe even at a get-together in the Phalaborwa area when I eventually visit my old mate, Gray!  Good Luck with the rest of the move and settling into your "new" home and routine.
