While at the school today, I took these three snaps of the awards board, an historical archive on the wall... recognise names from your years?

From '77 I recognised Mariaan du Preez.  Saw her again in Kimberley in 1991 - her parents lived there at that stage and she was visiting them.  Don't know if they are still in Kimberley.  I think her father used to be in security at the mine, but not to sure.

The writing is a little small (and I did open the photo's)  - I think I need new glasses very urgently!

If I can read them I think you need new glasses urgently Dalene. The only names I remember were, Gwen Castle,Susan Greenway and the Tooke's. The rest are after my time.

iknow  -   about the  new glasses     :emot111:    -   time to actually do it is another thing and the cost!!!!

Have been wearing glasses since forever, but gosh, is it an expensive neccessity  -  only my lenses cost me near R3000.  (Tri-focal lenses, have them made special thin, plastic and have them tinted so they go really dark like sunglasses  -  they see you coming from a distance and charge your eyeballs right out off their sockets -  but personally I think it's worth paying that price, because it's something that I wear each and every day and it's part of my appearance, so I need it to look good and acceptable  -  mostly for myself.

(The tannie will sit real close to the screen in order to see , so you don't need to go back and take new photies, Mike)
