Today in Kuruman  -  taken from my office window  (and my car was outside!)

Few small dents on the roof and the areal is ka-poet!  Not to bad - don't think I will need to take it for panelbeating, althoug I will just have it checked out properly just to make sure.

Strange, our other farm is between Danielskuil and Kuruman, my brother-in-law was there today, never mentioned rain. Must be a freak storm. Dalene, do you know Mount Carmel Farming and Safaris?. It belongs to my other brother-in-law, Andries van Zyl. Our other farm borders on his farm. His farm has the Boeman's Gat, where the diver's drowned in the under-water cave.

Hi Florrie, yes I know it quite well.  Drive past there mostly when I go see clients in Danielskuil or Lime Acres or even nearer to Koopmansfontein (farmers as well).   I also know about the drownings of those divers (about two years ago).

Yes it was just a sudden quick downpour and hail  -  lasted for about an hour, then stopped.   Afterwards the streets looked like rivers.

I was the school secretary at Lime Acres Primary before I moved to the farm. My sister-in-law taught there and organised a blind date. What work do you do Dalene? I thought you were a Boervrou. Did suspect from the financial advice you gave Mike that you might be more than that? Are you going to the reunion in CT?

Florrie, I am a boervrou, mamma, horse woman and career woman - all cramped into one small package.  I am a senior personal financial advisor:  the financial thing actually started when I used to be in the police force.  Long story - will tell you about it some day.

No, unfortunately not going to CT reunion, but for sure going to the Oranjemund reunion in November.

Will for sure contact you when I go to Kimberley agian, so we can meet up.

A few pics of how the street looked after the rain and hail.  Brown river flowing in the street

Hi Dalene
My wife's uncle stays in Tacoon, now called Ditatong not to sure about spelling they run the cafe, general dealer, 30km on the Vryberg road and another 20km gravel road. I pass through Kuruman a few times a year.

Dalene Steenkamp (Coetzee)

In future, remember you are allowed to stop for a cuppa (or something else) when passing through, Alfred.  Just let me know.
