The weather is lekker warm here today, with those high thunderclouds everywhere, kinda like up country, I finish work in 40 minutes, so I think I'll go home and have a few beers and a nice little braai by myself..... I don't normally braai in the middle of the week, but....this weather cannot be wasted.....

It's for his wife... I think he is hoping that he might get lucky 2nite..... but then again I'm just a humble retailer and that ain't my business

Anyone read in News24 today, that in order to but an average house in ZA, you need to earn 40 000 rand a month....? Are they mad?

Quite rightly so ... house prices have indeed gone  crazy .. to  think that I bought the  first house for R 26 000 in 83/84  the  second one in 2000  for
R 200 000  the values of the terraced homes our area   are now in the region of 850 K  to 1 Mil now  depending on  condition for thos ethat did not get in some  years ago it  will now  be  exceedingly difficult .. even  hearing of 2-4 people  forming a partnership to at least buy a home , not make somebody rich by paying rent ,amd  when it has appreciated sufficiently sell and hopefully the  profit will give some leverage .. although now thiings are a bit  static with the new  credit act ...  intersest  rates going through the ceiling again    and fuel also taking a jump ,, ther was an article in the  papers saying that  about 6,2 million  in SA  have  been  blacklisted so  far  and  theres more on  the  radar  screen as things  begin  to  bite .. hopefully it  will  slow  down property prices .. the only ones I pity then are  the  speculators that got in  too llate  and  as  some  do  have  bonds  to  service ..
To see  sometimes  requires that you  first believe .

The housing market sucks... it's unfair and difficult for first time buyers to get in.... the only option is to build your own... I also feel that the Pam Golding's and the Seffs are helping to price houses way outta the reach of the average joe.... build your own house........

How's that Pork doing? Hope you have lashings of apple sauce to go with it...........

Michael Alexander

Nope... all the pork was made in marinade by a Cape Town company.... only the Pork Belly was doused with a good lashing of Ina Paarmans Braai spice....

Mike building isn't such a cheap option anymore. The stands have gone up and building materials too. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy than to build, if you can get a bargain.
