My mother worked for the newsletter, I think she was actually the public relations officer. she used to take visitors to the mine. and my dad was an electrician. Do you remember them. Dad was president of the cricket club for a time and mum was a regular at the yaught club. They knew the Reids( Ollie and Brian), Owens (athol and Joy) and we lived accross from the Humans. Mum was also friends with Mrs Hall- maths and chess teacher.

I am afraid not....your surname sounds familiar....and I was a Electrical appie here around that time...but only did one year and a bit here before moving on...then coming back.... I was down at the Yacht club also quite a bit in the late 80's.... Reids, Hills, Holls, Handley , Thornton to name a few...

My said she used to leave Karyn in the camp cot in the Yacht club and when she woke they would raise a nappy up the flag pole so mum knew to come back in!!!!!!!

I also remember having a day off school with three of my friends to be in some adds about saftey. They were about driving slower on gravely roads, so not to run over children, and not mowing over the power cords of your mower. That sort of thing. Anyone remember them? it would have been early 1990
