Our house, 26/13th had something weird about it. What and why, I cant tell you that. But Renee was once trapped in her bed, kind of pinned to the bed. I just remember her running out of her room, all the blood drained from her face. My Mom used to have a similar experience in her room from time to time. Then my old man, Ernie while working at the power station often experienced someone following him home after his shift at work. If I remember correctly Ginger Olivier used to work with him in those days. Delia?

Just  came  to me .. 26 13th .. I hope it  was not  the Olcker's old  house where Auntie Irene hanged herself ? only way I would know  is  when i  go  back .. the house  was opposite  wher  the  Mule derby was in the   60's before it  was moved to opposite the cricket field in the 70's ,, anyhow  there were lots of  stories about the Olckers old house ...

Could be in the numerics.    26..... 13   -   not sure, but numbers sometimes do play a big role in occurances and experiences like this.

Was frozen there for few minutes, freaky!! Sandy, I think you may be right about it being the Olckers house, will check with my Mom at a more decent hour. Also next door to us was just as creapy. German couple lived there, I was very attached to Lucy, husband's name was Heinz. They never had children and retired to Table View many years ago. I once looked them up and went for tea. Anyway, after they left, a young afr couple moved in, the wife committed suicide in the house. She claimed there was something in the house and hubby thought she was crazy.

Yvette, yeah our dads worked together but don't remember any stories from my dad about things like that - not saying it never happened, just don't remember any stories to that effect.

Hi Yvette and Sandy,

This is your brother inlaw speaking Yvette - Sandy's is correct the Olceker's family lived next door to you in 13th avenue - the german family moved in afterwards.

Brent and his mom passed while living in that house - remember going to the house when Brent was ill, his sister was in my class - never felt good in that house.

My memory of a strange happening - happened in about 1968, my brother Gary and I were riding home from scouts one Friday night and the wind was pumping as can in Oranjemund.

Gary who is 3 years younger than me (then 10) was riding behind me and I was joking with him that there was a ghost rider behind him on a bicycle. After a while I started to shit my self as well - made it home in a sprint.

Gary and I shared a room - we had a double bunk and I slept on top - I was in bed reading the scope mag with all its black stars covering all the vital parts - Gary was in the kitchen feeding his cat - when all hell broke loose Gary was sceaming at a very high pitch and came crawling up the passage (lived in a T shaped house - front door on one end of passage and our bed room on the other) on all fours ripping up the passage carpet that was nailed down - entered our bed room grabbing a plastic helmet (something like the plastic helmets we had in our steel helmets in the army) ripping it in half - looking at me with total terror on his face - me ripping the scope in half - jumping off the bed running into my parents room and bumping into my mom who was heading to our room - my sisters rushing out of their room coming to see what all the noise was about.

After about an hour we all settled down in the lounge and Gary told us what happened. While feeding his cat and with his back to the window he heard a loud scratching noise on the kitchen window - turning round he saw a face and arm which had a hand with long nails which was scratching the window. We all went to bed about 2 hours later.

The next morning my mom took my brother to see a doctor because he was still a bit shaken. My dad and I had a look at the window - to this day we still do not know what could have caused it - infront of the window was a bush with yellow flowers on it (cannot remember the name of the bush) had long thin geen branches and at certain times of the year had silk worm type worms on it.

One night in 1973 - Gary and I had just switched off the light afetr a night out with friends at the youth club - I felt a weight on the end of my bed and when looking down saw this lady with long hair bending over the end of my bed stretching one arm out at me - I closed my eyes and said to myself nothing is there and you have had too much to drink - it seemed to help because nothing was there when I re-opened my eyes.

That all folks!
Keep well.
Richard
