Okay! okay! I'll leave the envelope alone...............now where's the party yard?

On a different note but still to do with the envelope - have you ever seen a movie called ''War of the buttons''?

Hate to disappoint all the party revellers but the party in the yard came to an end once the mist came rolling in!

Now, after a hectic week-end I'm just going to sit in front of the fire drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows - anybody wish to join me? Just put another log on the fire before you sit down please!

We woke up to the mist this morning and the sun made an appearance for a couple of hours - it was so warm Mike took his shirt off whilst we were sitting outside this afternoon.

Mike made a potato salad to go with the braai (he doesn't like mine as he says it is too healthy, I add some bulgarian yoghurt to the mayo - only trying to think of his health!) and Cameron made corn on the cob smeared with butter and sprinkled with Aromat, then wrapped in foil to go on the braai - really jummy and then of course what would a braai be without garlic bread?

I also put the heater on as soon as the power came on, it is right opposite the girls bathroom - the bathrooms are freezing in this house!

Shadow has also had his fill of left-over meat and bones and hasn't touched his biscuits - he is exhausted as his two hour playdate turned into a four hour playdate and they just couldn't stop playing!

Did you cook all the veggies in with the lamb or seperately Sandy?

With  . and then separated the lamb to do browning .. just keeping the veg warm  . good at times to just do it separate .. kind of dry roast the veg in olive oil . ...but then when it soaks up some of the roast juice also yummy ..

As a non-meat eater I'd have to go with doing the veg seperately. Chrissie Wiese used to make the most devine veggie parcels for the braai - basically a combination of whatever is on hand with a bit of pineapple, slivers of butter and crushed garlic, wrapped in foil and left to cook in the coals.

Now I'm lus for that, I guess one of Cameron's mielies will just have to do!

Well it seems as if Rhona and Sandy have left me all alone again to sit and enjoy my hot chocolate - at least we could use the kettle and didn't have to boil the water on the stove (thank goodness for gas stoves!)
