Michele .. Gluhwein   got me  thinking now .. a  glass or  2 can do no  harm ?/  I got a better  version  . its called Port negus wine .. it was reputed   to  be made by Florence Nightingale ,to be  fed to  the  wounded in  the  Crimean war  ..  it also seems to  ward of  cold / flu   when you  feel it coming on .. just  drink a few  glassses and  craawl  into bed ..
1 bottle  reasonable red wine ,  2 - 3 med  to large sprigs rosemary (antibacterial , slight antiviral and antimicrobial and a mind picker upper  .. )  2 sticks cinnamon , 2 x whole nutmeg slightly crushed (  relaxing and slightly mind altering ) , a few cloves ,, some  slices lemon and orange ( Vit C content )  sugar to  taste ..  Bring the whole lot   to  just under boil in a  covered pot ( we dont  want to  evaporate the  alcohol content then )  allow to steep for  15 min  or  so .. longer the  better  ..  adjust  sweetness   heat up a bit if   got cool .. and drink  nice and hot ..   enjoy  a nice relaxing drink with  bonus  medicinal properties ..  better   be close to your bed if  you  have  quite a few ..
