Great to see that everyone is fine and posting away. I will only start working again on Monday - just catching up today on all mails etc.

Was talking to the neighbour yesterday and heard her say something about , " maar jy het pragtige varkore" I was just about ready with an indignant response when I realized that she was refering to the coloured lillies I have growing in the garden and not my ears.

Just back from our braai at the Heisers. Jacob,Dieter and I browsed through a bunch of old photo's of our youth. Stole a few that I i'll post sometime soon.

Varkore ..

reminds me of my friend Henreitta also a misunderstanding of afrikaans word/expression .. she stays down the bottom of the hill in Greatmore road .. she has taken to walking as much as possible as she wants to drop a few Kgs ... anyhow she opted to walk up the hill to come and visit me ... it was a hot day and by the time she got to my home she was quite flushed ... sitting down in the garden cooling down she says to me " here am I walking up the hill with all this good intent for burning off weight and theres these two vagrants in their sozzzled state sitting on the one conrner ... and they said to me " ..... " Jissis maar jy dra maar swaar " to which she took umbrage and said "beter swaar wees as lelik " and continued to trundle up the hill quite furious at their cheek .... I had a good laugh and explained to her that what they were actually saying was ... "jeepers but you taking strain " .....not referring to her carrying extra weight .. she then understood and had a good giggle about the whole misunderstood incident ... she still walks as much as possible ..
