Mike he has just learnt about e-mail he used to write letters all over the word on his type writier. One small step at a time!

Bertie Horak

@ Jeremy - I know exactly what you mean.  My Dad also just able to read e-mails now.  Still a problem forwarding and replying, though.  Not to mention the cell phone.  I gave them a cell, and wrote everything down in their language about operating it.  When I got to them 2 weeks later, the phone had more than R600 of airtime on it - they kept feeding it vouchers because they were scared it would die! idontknow

 :emot19:  That's so funny!

Everty tim I go to Plett to visit my mom; I have to sort out her PC and she has piles and piles of articles on how to do stuff that she never reads!  But in her defence, she knew how to MMS before I did.

I will open up on this one .. I spend lots of time talking to people over the phone every day  in the course of my business  dealings .. customers ,  potential customers  , suppliers , our  reps with enquiries .. at the  end of the day i am  " phone fatigued "  for me its a relief to actualy not have to use the phone .. but the i still have to ..  I run 24 /5  or 24/7 operation .. so I still ahve to be on the phone .. more "Phone fatigue"  sure I'm gonna get cancer in my left ear  from my portie at work and my cellphone .. so skype ..  right now  just does not do it for me .. i talk so much during the day  to the point I am irritated if my home fone goes off   ...  to just  chill and  write is  fun .. I only talk  on the  phone  and occasionaly to friends and those that I have  face contact with every so now and again  ...  so  skype .. more talking ..  for now not an option ..  I have " allowed"  internet into my private time  after much deliberation .. and found it fun .. but yes distracting pulling me from  other sometimes important things I have to deal with ..   Oh shyt i'm wrting in riddles .. but thats where its at ...

Ha ! Eddie phoned me and asked me if I could help him with his first  cellphone  .. he  got one of those diabolical early erricksons circa 2001  .. bad menu .. anyhow i discovered that he  always  kept it  switched off  cos he thought that when it was switched on it  used up airtime ??  I had to explain carefully that it was only when he made calls  that it used up airtime .. that considering that he had been on internet for years before ?  quirky hey ??

Ha... Sandy, I am one of those paranoid bastards who hates using a cellphone..... I believe it will give you cancer or something one day...(whoooo! What a nutter!, I hear them pointing and laughing)... however, if I speak on a cellphone for longer than 30 seconds, I start to get headaches that last for 4 hours after........... I still carry a cellphone, for shop alarms..... but I seldom seldom ever use it to communicate with..... in fact most times it is off...... for this reason am still using the old Nokia 3310, when everyone around me has upgraded to the latest job....... The guys at work all laugh at me...... but at least my hair has not turned gray yet......  quickdop

The  3310  .. workhorse .. I have great respect for that model ..  simple  menu .. nice big buttons  .. solid .. and  there are  many  still working to this  day .. their cases  shiny from use  , testimony  to their toughness ..  got  one as a  loan  fone  last  year  while  my  new 5500  had to go in  for second  time to have its   rubber  face   fitted  again .. It was  like meeting an old friend again..
