Not much into sweet stuff -  biltong would be no.1 on my list, but once in a while I will buy myself a peanut brittle (the snack of peanut set in hardened caramel).  Just did that - ran across the street to Clicks and bought myself one.

So this little run and this little sweet is now costing me way more than I ever would have thought possible.  Reading lekker here what everyone else had posted and was posting away like mad - take a big bite of brittle - chew and...
crack, EINA, what is so hard in my mouth now?  ....  just like that one of my caps (kroon tand) had come loose and here I am sitting with it in my hand.  So....  it's Wednesday afternoon, all the doctors and dentists are out of office, apparrently playing golf, so where does it leave me?   Right here where I am.....  with the cap in my hand, half eaten peanut brittle on the table, still posting away.  Gonna finish the brittle - just chew it with the teeth in the other cheeck.

Favourite snack, if you can find the right one, is that droe wors, that is oily, the one where when you bite into it, it cracks open, the oil flowing ... the taste awesome...from a sweet perspective,,,,, Bounty Bars...during the 80's it was Tempo......

did any of you read or see that article in the news last year about some lab that had managed to regrow human teeth?

Definately Wine Gums! But only the type made by Maynards.  Sorry Mike, have'nt heard of the regrowing teeth story. Sounds to me like another Dolly the Sheep scenario.

Cherry (Alcock)

I remember the story Mike; there was also a picture of a poo mouse with a tooth growing off it's back.  Disgusting the things we humans do to animals!

@ Georgswa  -  I know they put it back in.   Same thing happened with another cappet tooth in 2006 whilst in Henties.  Was chewing on a wilson toffee.  Cap came out and was still stuck in the toffee.  Off to Swakop to the dentist.  Just cleaned out the tooth, cleaned the cap, put the glue on and reset it back.  The whole joke cost me N$725-00!

That droewors, Mike  -  now you're speaking my language!

Carl I'll have to fight you for those wine gums and yes only Maynards.

Now onto superglue.....my podatrist told me that if you have a very eina cracked heel...superglue it.Apparently this glue has been used in emergancies to hold war wounds untill they could get trearment.

Bill tong- yum yum

I miss Tempo bar and Inside Storie.

Simba chips.

- as far as teeth are concerned - if people ruin them then why do animals have to suffer for our benifit.

Bloody rats have a hard enough time crawling around in things that we wouldn't even walk in - without people growing foreign objects out of them.

Does anyone remember those peanuts with the crispy red coating?

Dalene Steenkamp (Coetzee)

Yep.  Reminded me of dry jelly powder.  Wonder if you still get them today?

Something that I do NOT eat at all  -  turkish delight.  Yuk...  and also anything with coconut in it.  Can't stand the taste of them both.  Turkish delight also looks like jelly that has been made too strong and left in the fridge to dry out.  Oh yes, and I also don't eat icing sugar. Ga-ga stuff - just too sweet.

John  engaged  her in  conversation  in  arabic  and  yes  she  was  turkish  and  made  the pukka  turkish  delight .. I  was  bought a container  to  devour  on  my  own ,,

or what about those bags of fudge that could be got at either the mule derby or the Christmas tree - pure bags of sugar; never tasted fudge quite like it since............or remember those tiny little pink sweets; not soft nor hard nor chewy - more chalky kinda things, could eat a load of them and were garaunteed to make you as sick as a small hospital..........my pet hate - Dolly Mixture - now what is the meaning of those???
