HHMMMM Flake by Cadbury. Get it in British shops here. The imported stuff is so expensive.

Too many to be able to give a favourite.

I do however wonder why the factories stop making sweets/chips after a while, for eg:

Ripple Chox, Peptalk, Kreoles (you either loved them or hated them!) and Hula Hoops, and these are only a few!

Do they still make Chocolate Buttons in the UK? For some reason I've always remembered them.

oh yes - chocolate buttons still here and Hula Hoops, in 4 flavours.

I miss Nick nacks - and the Cream Cloud Ice Cream that we used to get from the spar around the corner from Rhenish.

Remember the fight over the Cholcolate Mouse in Bording School and the heel of the bread......

Michele Alexander (Voden)

Hi Claire - I'd forgotten about the Cream Cloud ice-creams - you could also buy the plain caramel in a frozen bar!

Chocolate mousse/instant pudding - they always used to make two flavours and put them in one bowl - one of the better memories from hostel days! I still can't stand the jam with the ginger pieces in or fish spread! Sunday evenings also used to be lekker when they made boiled eggs with toast and melkkos (semolina?).

Cheetos in the US Jr (NikNaks).  Me - Springer Brandy Beans - not a chocolate fan but those; happily stash them away and didn't share!  Can't get the real ones anymore - just some pseudo wannabes from afactory in Windhoek.

So you know them too Cherry? Have you been to America, or do / did you get them in SA?

Was in the states in March and tried them; still prefer niknaks.

Michael Alexander

I thought Springer was Namibian?  Exported around the world?

idontknow

It is (was) a Namibian company but the family sold out to some bunch in Windhoek.  You can still buy brandy beans in Windhoek but the chocolate quality is not as good as the real Springers although the middle brandy/sugar combo is ok.  A friend of mine goes to Namibia every now and then and brings them back.  Disapppointing though.

Michael Alexander

Woolworths in ZA also stocks their chocolates, look on the back...it will not say made by springer.... it will just say...Product of Namibia....
