Once upon a time there lived a brother and sister. Never a day would pass that these two siblings were not at each others throats for some or other petty materialistic reason. And so it came to pass that on one warm Friday afternoon in November 1986 these two combatants should meet again.

The younger sibling, being the more aggressive of the two as she had inherited her father's genes, was very much a fan of Maya the Bee.
Armed with a supersized bag of cheese flavoured corn snacks she settled down on the couch to partake in the latest offering of Maya on TV1.
Unbeknown to her, her elder sibling had just aquired the latest vinyl disk produced by the musical bards of note in that time, Depeche Mode.
As was common practice in those times, the elder sibling eagerly proceeded to place the vinyl disk in the disk turning machine, and carefully adjusted the output power to 90% in order to fully appreciate the musical delight produced by the aforementioned bards of note.

Enraged by the realization that Maya the Bee had suddenly aquired the vocal talents of the two bards Martin Gore and David Gahan, the younger sibling flew off the couch and wrestled the offending vinyl disk from the disk turning machine. Returning triumphantly to her couch, with the evil disk clutched firmly between her grubby cheese encrusted fingers, she suddenly experienced the vision of a bright red flash followed by a painful burning sensation in her left eye. So overcome was she by her feeling of triumph over the offending vinyl disk, she had not seen the blindingly fast  thumper  that she had been dealt by her elder sibling.

My friends, there then ensued a  yesno thumper the likes of which not even Saddam Hussein could have immagined in his wildest shock and awe dreams.

Realizing that she was not going to win this battle, nor the war that would follow, the younger sibling then made a life or death decision to finally gain the upper hand, by any means. Through the rage filled purple haze clouding her vision, she identified the outline of a screwdriver lying on top of the TV. Grabbing the handle firmly in a vicelike grip, she lunged at her elder sibling, feeling the pop as the blade first penetrated the palm of his outstretched hand and then broke through on the other side.

Yes my friends, such was the extent of my younger sibling's love of Maya the Bee!

The End.

PS. The two siblings have since learnt to live happily ever after.

Nicely  set  in  fable  format  Carl .. Skewered  through the hand  with  a  screwdriver ?? that must have  been eina !!  Dunja .. you  got  it  all  wrong  you  should  have  destroyed  the  disc  as well .. instant  gratification , removal of  immediate irritation  would  ahve  made  the  shiner a  bit  more  worth  it .. My poor Mom and  da  they  would  sometimes  come home  to  broken plates  after a  session of sibling  rivalry ...

yougogirl Dunja! Good for you! I was also the younger sister and was forever being tormented by my older brother!

I can remember him breaking the glass of the windows above my bedroom door whilst he was trying to aim golf balls through the opening onto me.

thumper

When we were at High School he was at Rondebosch Boys High, two years ahead of me and I was at Rhenish in Stellenbosch - the only time he ever phoned me was when he needed to borrow money!

Of course Carl has a flair for the dramatics... twas not straight through the hand but I would say about a third of the way in....hehehe

Guess a girl got tired of being constantly beeing beaten upon by her older brother.  I was the one that got home from school first and I was busy watching when Carl got home.

I must say that he thought twice before ever beating up on me again! hehehehe

So the moral of the story is give as good as you get....  REVENGE IS SWEET!!!!!   bling1

As for acupuncture curing - I visit an acupuncturist a couple of times a month and would highly recommend it; just make sure you get a good reputable one.......
