Dr. Bertie! Dr. Bertie! I have a question........you mentioned in an earlier post about 'genetically predetermined week-points' - what I'm taking from this and correct me if I'm wrong but illnesses and conditions are laid out for each and every one of us previously and so does this mean we can't cure ourselves? Are we waisting our time with our restrictive diets?

Also in your first consultation with a patient, that could take up to an hour - do you physically have to see and touch that patient - or can you 'view' someone new purely on a trust basis?

@ Rhona - No, it doesn't mean you WILL get the condition or disease.  I said pre-determined weak point.  In such a case the chances of you getting the condition is slightly higher than the guy next to you with a different genetic predisposition.  It is however possible to prevent getting the condition, or the progression thereof (diet, etc,etc).

Regarding the consultation - yes one can do consultation through questioning over the phone/e-mail, but it is not ideal.  I'll have to accept what the patient says as the true state, and, for instance, how will I be able to do a proper liver examination to see if all the visits to the bot-bar hasn't affected one little leprechaun?  Some conditions might be missed, we can pick up a lot through little things like looking at the nails, eyes, skin, posture, movement, etc.
