Don't sweat the small shit!

So if the future of Oranjemund seems very fragile at this time, what will happen to all the boats at the yacht club if closure occurs? Are you guys allowed to transport them out of OM nowadays or restricted?

If restricted will there be a humungous bonfire? Ghastly thought.

Kinda like a viking funeral..... As far as I know there are no boats (seaworthy ones) down there anymore..... I think there is an old tempo rotting away in the sheds and a few of those longboards windsurfers.... THere might be a few oppies left in the lock up shed.... Andrew will know!

Oh wow it is that bad huh?

Yeah, well then a Viking funeral does seem the correct and noble thing to do.

YEP! Yep! the only thing is, my dad , JOck wants one of those old boats and wants us to put his body on it and push it out into the atlantic on flames...not the pan, as it might get stuck in all the weed...... Whisky Galore for all!

I think you need to consult Bob Molloy about trying to get beyond the breakers. He built a wierd board to try to surf those waves. It was not good to watch! So if your dad wants a Viking send off, I say he should reconsider and opt for a canoe on the pan! Much safer.

Not that it needs to be safe but it provides a better viewing option for the mourners!

It is so sad to hear about a fantastic amenity like the yacht club is being left to stand and slowly rot due to lack of interest. If I could uplift the clubhouse today I know of a yacht club here in UK that'd be so incredibly thankful for it. Yes, here in UK the type of building at CYC is classified as being very, very good quality. And the only way to get something like it here due to the extreme costs involved which membership fees and cash drives would not support is to apply for a Lottery grant which as you might expect is as hard to get approved as is winning the blerry Lottery jackpot!

When I worked at Affenrucken a whole mob of us went to the Pink Pan one long weekend. I think they still havent recovered from the culture chock.

You will all have to buy my upcoming book to get the details.....

Wow - why such a reaction to a club? It's not exactly that big house at the top end of Pall Mall in London!!
