them twatting thorns still haunt me,which ever the way they were ,the bastards still got you,we used to call them the ,DRIE HOORING EINA ETTERS,any one remember the termenollogy,if you dont, youve never lived

Such a good laugh !  Been long since I heard that, Bobby.....   my friend's little boy of 3 expressed himself in a similar way & couldn't help but laugh  -  something like  :  ' die pokkene doenangs steek my eina '   oh, his mom's face !  My own son used to call them  'blikkesems', 'cos we used to say 'eina, bliksem'  when you stepped in one.  We still got lots of them thorns here in the Kalahari  -  those hard ones and the soft versions Sandy is talking about  -  hard ones are called duwweltjies and the soft ones paper thorns.  Must remember to take pics for you & post them here.
Life becomes harder for us when we live for others, but it also becomes richer and happier. Friendship is a sheltering tree.

To be clever enough to get a great deal of money, one must be stupid enough to want it.

Those who bring sunshine to the lives of other cannot keep it from themselves.

Hooray for Barnato House.

I remember in my time at OPS that Barnato was first in team spirit and last in everything but swimming! one year at cross country the teachers played a trick on us and swaped the red and green teams scores around!!!!!!! You should have heard us cheer! In fact you would have heard us at the golf corse. they let us believe the impossible for five minutes before changing it back. The Red team captains even went up to protest!!!!!!!  :emot19: Funny now- but there were some very deflated kids in that stand.

I never thought that it was fair that the headmaster was RHodes..... it smacks of behind the scene stuff....   image21
