I am busy planning our January 2009 holiday.  We are planning to travel to Cape Town (Diana, I would love to pop in and see you), from there up to Namaqualand, where my hubby was born, then I would like to drive to Oranjemund.  I need help in getting a permit to enter the Diamond Area.  Please help.

Tell me guys, is it possible to go into Namibia at Oranjemund, then drive up to Lüderitz and leave Namibia back to SA through Keetmans - Vioolsdrift?  Just working out route for future trip.  Don't know when, and I doubt if I'll be able to get away during the reunion, but it cant do any harm if I start planning, just in case, does it?

You can go this route.... Alexander Bay----> Oranjemund-----> Stay, Drink and deliver pizza's to mike-----> take the North Bank road (dirt) from Oranjemund to Rosh Pinah----->Aus (now tarred) -----> Luderitz------->visit the place then drive Back Via Aus to ----> Keetmanshoop----- Head SOuth on the B1 ( N7) ----> Tuis......

Thanx Mike.  Ja, I think it would be better if I deliver the pizzas on the "up" trip.  If I did Lüderitz first, the pizzas might have turned into huge chips.  Thanx for info!
