Action on this Morning's Beach Walk!

SO Shadow and I went for our beach walk this morning, I parked the Bakkie and we headed of down the beach towards the Security fence....... As I was walking  along I had the feeling that I was being watched.... Glancing back, I noticed that a blue security  department bakkie had parked behind a dune. It was too far to see what was happening.... I carried on walking towards the fence, continuing to bend over and pick up anything that appeared to be SParkling in the early morning sun..... After finding only a Sea urchin.... we headed back, but just to confuse the security types, who i was sure were watching me, I headed inland, and walked along the Dune Belt.... "Hahaha!" , I thought to myself.... That will bugger them.....

After half an hour I headed back onto the beach, only to find that there were now two Bakkies parked there, Shadow was off like a bolt of lightning, launching himself at this 6 foot two Afrikaaner. He just flicked shadow.;; off, the dog wanted to play.... we exchanged the usual greeting..... "Goeie More..... Hoe gaan dit, en wat kyk julle ouens...."

My bubble burst as I found out that I was not the object of their observation.... all that gesturing I had been doing was in vain....

The story goes... that a Bouy had broken loose of three plant in last weeks storm and drifted up the coast to CHameis, Namdeb had launced their boat and divers from the mouth to go and recover this said bouy..... I headed off to the mouth to find a Hollywood type scenario..... 4 more security cars and a blerrie fire truck also..... I just circled , gave a wave and came home, wondering to myself why they need 15 people to recover a bouy and why not just launch the duck from Chameis instead of rubber ducking all the way up the coast..... I guess thats why I am in retail and not in Marine Salvage...

There is a sentence in English that can be spoken but cannot be written down. There is though, a story behind it :

A young boy is rowing across the river in a boat when he bumps into a buoy.

The sentence is "Both boys/buoys sank."

The correct way to write it down would be "The boy and the buoy sank."

Not many people know that.......

Hey Mike, I saw the boat behind the fire truck as it was being pulled out of its storage... NOT a wubba ducky... quite a mean thing though. I was wondering where the boat was going when I first saw it... now you have satisfied my curiosity. Thanks.
The buoy (if it's the 1 I'm thinking of) is like a weather buoy and gives feedback to land about various activities in the sea, swell heights, swell frequencies, tides, amongst other data, all used by various sea farers and NDB for warning of heavy seas affecting the sea walls.
