bobby, last i heard the Blue Lady was still going strong - us wynberg girls on the site ie. barbara and i, left in '81 & '82 respectively, then again considering the Blue Lady's nature, she's timeless!  had cousins that subsequently went to WGHS and she was still roaming the corridors in all her glory! who asked you to find out - just interested to see if it's anyone i know? shame, i remember the new std 6's were scared sh...less when being told about her on their arrival  :D

thanks bobby - don't know the names, before my time, i was there 78-82.  a bit of FYI for your sister re miss urie (the dreaded headmistress at wghs/hostel - i'm sure u've heard all about her) - she landed up in the same old age home as my gran here in ct - went to visit my gran just before she died in 1995 and who's sitting out there in the garden as a resident - miss urie! made a huge detour around her (she hated us o'mund girls with a passion) and then saw in the papers about a year later she'd passed on to "the realms of higher learning".

GrEATings again to all. I know, I know, I have BEAN conspicuous by my absence over the last week. If your ASSumptions of me were of a BOARed NATURE, then you would be miSTAKEn. Totally satuRATed by life's daily chores would be closer to the point. May have to resort to weekend postings only. Barbara, fret KNOT, as the dreaded DILLing did not eventuate, but I did get a reFERAL to the health nurse. Apparently the GUMS have receded, due to excessive BRUSHing, LEAFing a few ROOTS exposed.

Noticed that your postings were rather RARE this week also Michele. WELL DONE on trying to juggle motherhood, running the spar and posting to boot. Spring has sprung, and with it, the more FLAVOURable warmer weather. I speak SOLEly for us Southern Hemispherites, as Barbara's weather shall make a TERN for the worst, as it HAILS in the cold SEASON. We on the other hand Michele will have to get used to the smell of smoke from braaied FAUNA , the fizzing of that AMBER fluid and plenty of teen SPIRIT in the air on those BALMy summer evenings.

I noticed that Bobby also made a flEATing appearance on our POTPOURRI segment. BON APPETITE bobby. Are you also looking forward to the Rugby World Cup? I am hoping that the BOKKE can cause a little INDIGESTION by taking the honours ...... Oh what I'd give to hear the WINE and gMASHing of teeth from the other GNATions.

What a reLEAF,
I thought the bLOG had dried up, that you had all got BOARed.

But HAIL, from the ASH the SAGE Nikki has returned, lol.

Yes okay, Michele is putting her POOl up and you all have months of SPROUTing and warmer weather to look forward too while over here in the land of 4 SEASONS the leaves are already falling and we're still waiting for summer.
We had a WHALE of a time in the light, but alas not much sun.
CURRANTly I am preoccupied with a promotion offer from work, which is a TRIFLE fortunate, well deserved of course! I don't want to FUDGE the negotiations but am pondering the best way of asking for a MINT.

It's the COCKtail hour and I need to get my nosebag on,

HOEray, the FLOCK has reapPEAred,I was getting a TAD lonely in here by myCELLf!

It is MOnTH-end in O'mund so Spar has been SOW SOW busy, August really FLEW by, and then of COARSE Mike HOGs the computer at home.

WELL, the tRAMpoline has been moved and the POND is up but still FILLING. The CRITTERS could NEWT wait and were PADdling this afternoon already. Luckily our two can swim like FISH, only thing is tHAY come out of the WATER looking like wrinkled PRUNES.

There was also a FUNNELral in O'mund today, man by the name of Johan BARNard. He had CANcer for many years but had apparently BEAN feeling better recently. Not sure how long he had BEAN living in O'mund, must be close on 20 years. He was a real HONEY, always smiling and friendly. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Elma and their TREE children.

Have you heard that BREAD will be singing in SA this month and that Michael BUBBLY is singing in December at Kirstenbosch GARDENS! CEILING Dion will also be here next February, performing at some WINE estate, tickets are JUICE SOW DAM DEER.

It's FATher's day again, and here I am PIGging out on fresh liquoRICE. I always get LAIDen with all things CONEfectionary on Dad's day because I'm ......... Er ........ Well ...... Er ...... SWEET, I guess. Lovely WHEATher today, so we took a drive up North to see what we could see. Well we saw what we saw, then drove home again ...... Why? .....  Well, the opportunity was RIPE for the PICKing. Non of this "as the CROW FLY'S "stuff, oh no, it was just a SNAIL's pace drive, taking in all the SHRUBBERY, Eutherians, MarSOUPials and of course Monotremes.

BARBERRY DEER, you SOWnd like a Bluebell CREEPER striving to reach that next rung on the TRELLIS. It DOEs't sound like you KNEAD any POINTERS, but from what we all know about YEW, you must be one of their true ASSets. This is KNOT the THYME to be modest about your accomplishMINTs, SOW BEE ready to toot your HORN. I am sure that your COWorkers think of you as a hardWOKing and bright individual and that you deserve to coin it. What line of WOK are YEW in? We will all be holding .... ER ... HOOF'S for you.

Michele, fEAR KNOT and cease LAMBenting, we WOOD never FLOCK off for too long, as we would BEE like an ALBATROSS PINEing for the Fjords. This is just TREEmendous, communiCATing like we do. I think though that we must prepare for FALLOW times ACACIAnaly my DEER friend. There will be times when the clouds fleEAT past and fALE to empty their contents over the parched SOIL, LEAFing it dry, baron and unproductive. I am sure that your pool has filled up by now, and it got me thinking, do they see themselves as little FISH in a big pond, or big FISH in a little pond?

Have yoursELVES a FRUITful week,  FELLow  HORTIFLORAFAUNABAKERS.

:DGonna try something new, using song titles containing words about food, flowers and plants.

Hey bulldog(the Beatles)
Shaking like a leaf on a tree(Norma Waterstone) even a  Fake plastic tree(radioheads) in The house of the rising sun(the animals)  on strawberry fields(the beatles),   where nothing but flowers(talking heads), and Poison Ivy(human league) grow I eat Peaches(the stranglers).
With a little help from my friends(Beatles), I'm slip sliding away(Simon &Art) as
I heard it on through the grapevine (Marvin Gaye), Where the Wild Roses Grow - Nick Cave
Could it be the march of the pigs(NIN), or several species of small furry animals(pink floyd), I think I smell a rat(the white stripes).
are you ready for this?

Well, Yankee doodle dandee, lets roll out the barrel!

I think the Woodpeckers from Space have landed in my pc and I wish I could say we're all going on a summer holiday as I want to break free from this Jailhouse Rock and pack up my troubles in the old kit bag

I suppose though that the show must go on and my eternal flame will keep me staying alive as I have to look after our house in the middle of the street and will probably end up doing the mashed potato for supper whilst listening to Kate Bush

Yodelahihoo, yodelahihoo!

Yesterday, I had a bad day and was in Dire Straits. Luckily big girls don't cry as we know the sun will come out tomorrow.

Perhaps love we'll have to wake Nicky up before we go-go or should we wait for the chain reaction. Maybe he's once again decided to hit the road Jack and gone looking for Kookaburra sitting in the old gum tree. Like you say - probably just working a hard day's night.

Remember the song By the Rivers of Babylon - we used to sing By the Rivers of Beauvallon when we were kids? Also the song We're the kids of America - was changed to We're the kids of Oranjemund! Happy Days are here again!

Say you, say me, Shannon has a sleepover party tonight so I'm sure they'll be dancing in the moonlight, just hope they won't be burning down the house, although I'm sure they will be burning the Midnight Oil whilst they sing Happy Birthday before blowing out the candle in the wind.

Well Bar,bar, bar, barbarbaran I'm going to have to fly like the Eagles and from the Sound of Music sing So long, farewell.........
