Altzheimers .. Oh  Dear ..  Ok  then it has its advantages ..  one can do and  say the most  crazy things and not have to  remember  or be  embarressed

My husband says he can't wait for me to get it, will tell me every day we haven't had sex for weeks and I will feel sorry for him and oblige.

Well apparently  you  might  not  mind .. Ive heard of many Altzheimers  patients where they sort  of  go back into  horny teenage  mode ..  ( just imagine  all the  goings on   in the old age homes ?/ )   so  it  might be the inverse  .. your poor hubby will have  you  demanding ...

He will think he has died and is in heaven. My dad's is getting worse. My stepmom gets so mad at him because he swears a lot and gets angry with her and then a few hours later when she is still mad at him, he can't remember offending her. It has advantages and disadvantages, he is unaware of any stresses from the day before but also often gets disorientated and for example, has to figure out which key opens the gate everytime, even though they have been living there for longer than a year. Also forgets where the light switch is etc.

A  friend of mine's mother had it .. from an intellectual she  became a child , fixated on the  penguin rescue effort that she saw on the TV ... that was  a  place  she  went  to  so many times .. would be sitting in  company lucid and very with us .. suddenly  dart off  saying  she had to go  help the penguins .. they put a " return to sender" notice on her handbag , cos at times she would  slip out when nobody was looking  and go walkabout , many a time somebody would  bring her back home  according to the instructions on the handbag ..
Anthony died suddenly and  tragically and there was she at the memorial service totally unaware of all the fuss .. his passing  did not penetrate her  thoughts .. so everybody just played along and said he  had gone back to canada ...
