Remember these tough little green Ford Anglias that folk could hire in town. Man were they tough. One of my buddies who shall remain nameless used to have great fun riding around the back of the pink pan (yacht club) through the sand and back onto the road. Never seemed to get stuck in the sand.

Don't forget the Beetles that you could hire as well.  Charlie Huntley and I went to do our drivers' tests in one and shocked the devil out of "Monkey" Malan when we drove up as learners with no licenced driver - just us two - surprised he let us do our tests but we passed!  Reckon if I had to redo a K53 now, I may not pass!   image201 image201
