I just came back from SPAR, we have just got the ADSL put in...WOW!...... A file that would have taken me 60 minutes to download came in at just over 3 minutes....

This ADSL sux!  It does not stay connected all the time.....it's like having IWAY on steroids.... keeps on bombing out and losing the connection....

Well, you'll have to hope it gets better.
I have the problem to sometimes. But the reason is the connectivety via WLAN to the router. Sometimes my router or the telefon hasrdware needs a newstart.
Would that help in your case?

I was soooo worried about the ADSL here at work. We have a 5gig cap limit, and FOr the first week we never had any way of seeing how much bandwidth we used, a week after using it, I installed a program and was amazed to see we had used 2 gigs in 3 days....Ouch! this worried me, so I headed on over to telcom to go and check what the damage was going to be...... and what a surprise... no it's a fixed package you only pay for the package, "Ja!, but we must be at least 4 gigs over the cap limit!", says I to the nice lady behind the counter...." There is currently no cap in place yet!" , she replies, we will only be capping next year sometime........ WoW! No Cap!...I happily scurrie dback to work and lined up that download queue!

I hope its what you think it is Michael.......we bought a 1gig package from Vodacom and yes you can only cap it at 1gig after 3months. Neadless to say we happily went about our postings and downloadings in that time thinking we were within the gig. Big surprise at the month end....charged for the gig package plus the extra used at a higher unit price. After the 3months we upped it to 2gig and pay the package regardless of wether it is all used or not. At least now its capped so the monthly instalment stays the same.

My home setup is a 2gig max, it was in the national newspapers that telecom could not yet cap the limits until next year..... the techie has to come to your modem and change something.... and nobody has been here........

2Gig in Omund is meant to be about 540.00 per month..... then 15cents for every meg above that!
