Who remembers the Omund "Schlagter Fest" (spelling?)

Far as I remember it was run by the German speaking community (I am from Namibian German stock) of Omund in the 1960s at the mule derby when it was still situated in 13th avenue.
It started in the afternoon and went on into the night. I rememebr a lot of music, song, beer and good German food.
At the end of the evening a couple (who I think were not German) who were very good ballroom dances, did a show and finished the evening off. Does anybody remember the couple, I think the wife eventually became a "Blou Rokkie", which put an end to the dancing.

Life's journey is not to
arrive at the grave safely
in a well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting
'..holy sh*t ..what a ride!
