What a ^%$# evening it turned out to be..... not the whole thing, the braai, drinks and company was good... I had set up a spare PC outside by the braai, I  had installed a new version of Skype..... So there we were sitting around the drink table, Pc monitor perched on the end..... when I started Skype up, I could not connect to anyone, when we did search for names to connect to, It would not let me connect to Bertie, Georg, Debby, Barbara, Bobby..... I do not know if this was because it was a new installation, and before I could connect, the receiving person would first have to verify..... then while I was waiting , I did a sound test with the Skype server, that connected, then it turns out that my LINE IN works for the microphone, but not the mic in socket... I could not get SKYPE to work with the line in connection...

So from a SKYPE point of view, the evening sucked.....

We had a nice little braai with my brother stePhen and his two kids, they all splashed in the pool till fairly late in the evening, Andre' FOurie next door was having a moerofa party, At one stage I was tempted to go.... but did'nt.... But on the plus side.... I feel like a million bucks this morning..

Sorry 4 all those Skypers I missed last night.....

Pity Mike, it looks like you really got ready for a nice Skype session, but like you say - it's good to feel like a million dollars when everybody else looks like somebody stole their cereal this morning after they woke with little hammers doing a rhythmic barumba on their skulls!
On my side, whenever I looked in on Skype, it showed nobody else was online.  This was a bit hard to believe, wonder if my side had a problem as well. But it did work a week ago?
At least it was a nice evening weather wise.  Would still have preferred to celebrate it with you guys - maybe go sit on a dune, listen to the nightlife and smelling the fresh air!  All I heard here were ambulance and police sirens, house alarms going off, and smelt only what must have been wet charcoal fires that was struggling to get going.  You're still lucky!

Well... it was dead quiet in the hood this morning, save for the neighbours dog,MAxi, who pokes his head through our fence and then howls and cries that he is all alone.... his owners are away, all he wanted to do was come and play with Shadow.... after 10 minutes of crying, I heard three thuds..... on investigation , I found three pieces of cement lying around the dog..... there was a faint smell of cigarette smoke in the air..... I assume my neighbour who partied last night had had enough......

Old years eve  nice .. good food  laid on etc , but everyone kind of  disconnected ..  maybe it was too much dry champagne ...??  methinks a good many bottles of  JC le Roux  sweet stuff would have lifted the mood ...  Pongracz and Borealis  although  good quality   bubbly  had  enough  throughout the season so far   .. ... I had my fill ..
yesterday  roasted  the other turducken   that was lurking in the freezer  ...  this time added some  butter to the  equation ...  basted in this and its own juices  came out  golden  brown ...  left to get cold  in fridge ...  hacked  the  haggis cousin in half and  took a half to Allans  for the  pooolside brunch . juicy  succelent .. and yes  .. I took lots of  JC  sweet bubbly ... the afternoon went well   compliments  to JC sweeter  cheap and cheerful .. back home ... and  relaxing ... other news to tell but will post on a topic ..

Bloody Turducken .. everybody thought it was a ham of sorts ... anyhow Mike  , do the equation ..  can a turkey fly ??  can a chicken fly ??  yes we know a duck can fly .. so yes the Turducken   sort of  flies and then flops  pretty much like Dianna's   ostriches ..  by the way forgot to tell all I have  a  retainer from Checkers  for marketing the  beastie ...  ha ha
