I just found this wonderful video of an old Air Zimbabwe advert from about 1990.  Might bring back a few memories to some Oranjemunders.

The track was done by ex Rhodesian helicopter pilot Bud Cocroft who left Zim a few years back and is now flying for Emirates.

On the other hand I see in the news yesterday that Zim are just releasing a new 100 trillion dollar note!!  If you think thats bad don't forget that in the last couple of years they have twice reissued their currency by chopping off zeros - the first time 3, the second time 10.  So the new note is actually a $ 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 (27 zeros) note!!!   Inflation is estimated at a "quintillion percent" (???).  The new note would have bought about 20 loaves of bread yesterday, probably less than half that today.

Believe it or not......

Put  it in Ripleys  believe it or not ... and the whole world just sits and watches the man destroy a once proud country  ....
To see  sometimes  requires that you  first believe .

We all look on in amazement and yes the whole world just sits and watches unfortunatly there is no one in Zim is prepared to do anything about it.

Still the mans clock is ticking and he has to run the same race we all do, it will end. I just hope that when the time comes a sane person can eventually turn things around.

I enjoyed that video, kinda like a Johnny Clegg moment...... Africa, so beautiful.... so corrupt!

Glad you guys enjoyed it!  I still believe that Zim will bounce back eventually - much like Zambia has done.  Sure it will take a while but once the few bad eggs at the top are gone the millions of Zimbos who still love the country can set about rebuilding a beautiful place.

Amazingly, this was done a a few months ago as a joke.........!
