I think we should pool the money and buy a huge bag of mixed stuff - toffees; lollies; tomato flavour chips and a cooldrink with 6 straws.......but that's just what I'm thinking  :ciupa1:

But! But!  ...toffees are sticky and I don't like tomato flavour...and why six straws, which other leprechauns do we have to share with?

The 3 Alexander Boys and the 3 Mc Manus kiddies always robbed together and shared the spoils - it was just an unwritten rule.........you prefer those Big corn bites or the cheesy nik naks?

Michael Alexander

Well in all honest I like to think that I am a big Corn kind a guy, but I guess I lean towards the  cheeeeeeeesy Nik Naks......

Seems that the cooldrink bottle deposit idea went down the generations.... I remember in the 60's an ironbrew was 5c takeawys and 2 cents when you had it in the cafe. Telling Cora we going to have the cooldrink in the cafe, finish it up and passing the bottle (the one with the diamond engraved on it) to someone else to buy a small packet of Simba chips for 3c at the end of the day the cafe paid us 1c to hace a cooldrink and packet of chips....

Yup, I had my secret bottle "collecting spots" as well.  When ever there was a party, I would go there the next morning and collect all the bottles with the little holes in the bottom.  Like at the cricket club, freemasons, yacht club, etc.  Always a few lying around that I could hand in for money towards a new "Matchbox" toy!
