Police station [ I do not remember if it was Dabaras , Hohenfells , or Sendelingsdrift ]  . Years ago some one saw a bush south of Grunenthal.  He took a twig and some leaves home with him . And on a occasion a  Reverant visited OM , the twig from this bush was sent with him to Prof Christo Pienaar in CT for identification . It turned out to be a Autralian Honeybush .
The only explanation for this bush being in the area,  was that the German officer at the paticular police station asked permission to farm with honeybees . Permission was granted and the autorities was pleased with the initiative , so they imported a load of honeybush plants for the officer  .
And it was speculated and concluded that this particular bush must have fallen off from the wagon transporting consumables and other goods from Luderitz to the Police station , and that conditions must have been right for it to take root.

Mike . you are 100% on the spot re the SC 1331 bakkie . But the day I took this photograph , the intention was to show that one can find the unexpected .  trees in that barren part of the world ! trees , although only about 2 meters high , were facinating things to encounter away from Oranjemund + water
