The Water Lorry!

Remember these water trucks that filled up at the first ave bushes, no longer happens and they now fill up at the Golf Course, this pic was taken this morning, excuse the darkness, cloudy, cool day in Omund today...

The Water Pipe at the E section of the 1st avenue bushes had an awesome clay pit...... Many a Rooinek Boertjie war was fought over there... those clay Lat's stung like hell!

Sorry I did not play "war,war." but yes it's these 'silly' little things about O'mund that make me go ahhhh ye I remember that. The water trruck driving past our back gate wetting the sand road. There are so many other things on this forum that do that as well.

There was... not anymore, been decomissioned. Now relocated to just past the gate on the Kolmanskop road, saves the truck having to go through security every time to be filled. (Well... that's my logic of it)
That was a lekker filling point... cycling home from check point on a hot east weather afternoon and the last trucker didn't close the valve properly; with a quick detour from the cycle path you could get a fresh sprinkling and a splash through the puddle if you ride through under the goose neck. Hey the simple things that Omers find fun in doing...
