Well the fun run this year was another great success...... I estimated at least 200 kids running..... for those of you who are not familiar...... the school holds a fun run every year that starts at the tanks park at the east section, down along 14th avenue to the back of the school...... not sure if there is any real winner, but great fun, mom's . dad's , dogs and prams...... even saw somebody;s grandfather  partaking...... a very very very long prize giving down at the school afterwards, did I mention that it was long..?

Curry and Rice, Hotdogs and cooldrinks for sale.......

Nice to have these social events still happening in the town.....\

Wonderful!  How I miss that clean town!
In the photo's I dont see a single can, chips packet, plastic bags lying on the ground, even though a lot of people are standing with snacks/drinks in their hands.  Something like that simply doesn't happen in the city (or anywhere else for that matter)!  Whenever there's a get-together like a fun run, it looks like a litter competition!

bravo ORANJEMUND!  You're  SO lucky to live in such a wonderful town!!!!

Thats only because Mrs Watt..... (Dawn Johnson) for you old timers , used the megaphone to threaten us all to not dare leave a piece of litter on the ground, funny how all us ex pupils (now parents) all cringed and kept quiet when she spoke....... "Shuddered!"

Bertie - I was shocked years back when we took the girls to watch Barney in Claremont, once the show was over the people all got up and just left their litter lying on the floor! Even the girls - who must have been about 2.5 and 5 - were disgusted. What kind of example were those parents/carers for their children?

I've only been to Windhoek on 3 occassions, the last being in 2000 but every time I was there I couldn't help notice how clean Windhoek was in comparison to Cape Town.
