Mike Voden (RIP)

Sorry Andy D, before my time but I'm sure there are some members on the Forum that worked on the river pumps before the current ones were installed

Here is what is left of the northern most Fehlman well at 4 Plant after the mining process exposed it down to bedrock.
You clearly see where the lateral filters extended from in the 2nd pic.
Pic 01, taken 2003 after the dredge had stripped through the area.
Pic 02 & 03, taken 2005 when the bedrock cleaning teams had been through the area.
Attempts were made to push these "wells" over without success. So there they stand for the Portuguese to come back in 500 years time and wonder what the heck these people were doing here under the sea.
All things electrical contain smoke. Making it come out is easy; getting it back in? ... yeah right!!!

The Beauvallon one has reference.... if you guys could see how politics and AA have buggered up that farm..... a mere shadow of itself.... I get so angry with the politicians that could not see further than their pockets....

Here is a 2011 Google earth shot, somewhere on this forum is an article from the beginning of this year, discussing how redundant this once prized farm has become...

Hennie, the pic of inside the shopping centre..... can anyone add more with regard to where exactly in the centre we are? What direction are we looking at? what department is on the left? Hennie is the snap inverted?

Hennie, the snap "Opening of the new store" is that when the Spar franchise opened? Notice the chopper flying overhead.... I was there that day, the chopper flew over dropping R2 notes , the bus in the road.... that was the old blue faithful ..... bright red seats inside... a real yankee type bus.....

Michael if there were a "like" button here I would like your post re: Beauvallon.... my thoughts exactlly. As for the shopping centre looks like its after I left in 1981....to me looks like the entrance is to the right and that blue/green type board ahead was the old entrance to the gents. Just guessing here from what I see.

Pic .re inside the shopping centre. looking in the direction of Jasper house. As one came in at the main entrance , there was a notice board . Look carefull and you will see a notice [ the white one ]  for the "Diamond Draw " fund raising for ?? Club . [I Remember Keith Brooks won the draw twice ] Directly oposite on the left  was a little blackboard where the specials were written on with chalk . Man in blue is Corrie vd Nest . on the right just before the arch entrance was the toys and books. Turnuing left would take one to the groceries and Hardware
