Rhona

A minutes silence the world over will be held on Friday at 15:00 for my Uncle Jock from everyone who cannot attend his final farewell...........Slainte

Cherry (Alcock)

Oh Mike, I feel the pain you are experiencing ... your words bought all the sadness of losing a deeply loved member of the family back ... just keep that strength of your very close family near to your heart ... you will one day remember your dad with a smile and a laugh xxxx

Michael Alexander

Thank you all once again, the support that we are all receiving has indeed made these few days more bearable...... Ahem! Even those of you who supported me around the braai fire at 03h00 in the morning.... the late shift......   36_1_72

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED!

My Fathers Funeral shall be held at 15H00 in the Community/United Church , Oranjemund on the 25th June 2010.

Like Rhona said, we'll all hold a minute of silence at that very moment in honour of Jock. we may be thousands of miles away, but we're familly and we'll stay united.

Also like the last photo. Was he thinking how fortunate he was to have such a loving family by his side?

Hi ,Nigel Hucker here ,so sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family must be some of the longest residents in O/M so your Dad must have been part of the furniture really.Once again so sorry.Even though we've not met  face to face, going by the way you all present yourselves I,'m sure your Dad was very happy the way you've all turned out and was extremely proud .Condolences to all

Tomorrow we will be moving from Dubai to our new home in Abu Dhabi, so it's going to be a long and busy day. But I will be thinking of the Alexander clan and think of you at 3pm. May you find the strength to give Jock the best of farewells.

Thanks all!

Well  For the first time in a good decade or two, A piper stood in my front garden this evening, playing a few tunes, including Sarie Marais.... the fire was roaring in the background, the moon almost full..... not a breath of wind in the tall tree's and the lad, Philip played them there pipes in preparation for my Father;s funeral 2morrow..... Wow..... Slante"

Then Philip saw our piano, and sat down, and low and behold, the lad started to play concert hall pieces on the piano.... an audience gathered..... one could see that here was a man passionate about music....

We handed him an out of tune guitar...... he promptly tuned the instrument in using the piano as the fork..... then grasping that there guitar. started to play some incredible blues...... it was as if the days of yesteryear had returned to our house tonight.....

How i thought to myself..... my father would have loved to have seen this piper of ours play all those instruments.......  but then as somebody so kindly pointed out...... he will hear him 2morrow at his funeral.....

Sterkte almal........ more is maar die groot dag!  hou vas!
