Just to update you on the latest on Boet.

The doctors in Cape Town at UCT are very pleased with Boet and with the way he is handling life and coping with things.  Dr. Schrosbree was most amazed at how Boet is able to overcome the impairment in his hands and mentioned that he actually should not even be able to use his hands the way that he does.  Well, all that we could answer to that :  prayer, faith, support from friends (like all of you) and determiniation.

His bladder is causing a bit of a problem, but that can be overcome with a small procedure.

So, all in all   -  Boet is doing great, he is positive and he is coping with life as best as he can.  He goes to the gym regularly (has commanded the physio girls up to come work with him in the gym twice a week) and he has a healthy social life with his friends.

I know I have said this many times before and it seems so little, but thank you again for all your love and support and prayers and for keeping the faith with us!  You are great friends - the best anyone can ask for.

Its all part of the equation Dalene ,,, prayers  , support  but most importantly  ATTITUDE ...  one  your tough love ,,, telling him that   he has to learn to become as independent as he can  be  because  you can be around babying him  for  100 years  or  the next  ten  minutes .. Life has no gaurantees ...  and then  of course Boet's DETERMINATION  to be the  best and do the best with with his  situation ... and yes from your stories on Sunday  he doing well ... I was recounting  your visit to my boss  on monday morning  and  he when I had finished  just smiled  and  said  its so good to hear  so much positive thinking  working its magic ...
To see  sometimes  requires that you  first believe .
