I don't have a blog, but I thought I would use this topic to place in writing those thoughts that run around my head. They may be irrelevant to many of you, but feel free to comment or join in.....

In the back of my mind, I keep pondering this Proclamation saga..... I know most people do not like change, it is a natural thing, we feel comfortable in our current lifestyle...

I feel that an end of an era has come and that change is inevitable....
I get angry as I feel some folk are not pushing the proclamation story for the better of their fellow residents, but for their own agenda's , but perhaps I am wrong....

I swim in the morning's in the town pool and wonder if I hold the record for the longest Oranjemund resident to be using this pool, I was swimming in this pond in 1976... here I am 33 years later still doing....it...... Damn ! I miss the high Diving board..... mmmh! they should rip up the concrete and plant grass again..... Wonder why CDM never put a water tube in here.... that I would have enjoyed..... hehehehe! Remember climbing over these walls when I was pissed at the Youth Club....... Come to think of it, those Spikes are pointless on the walls..... Hey! My Mom and Rhona;s mom was scaled these walls back in the 70's.....

Just my 2 cents worth of thoughts....

The company is going get rid of everything thats not directly connected to mining.
The town will go, including the swimming pool so enjoy it while you can.
The school will go and the hospital and all services connected with it.
The library will go to and more can't think of them now.

Debeers want's to split the sea operations in to another company and take all the rich pickings there.
The land operations will have to stand on there own. This will make it a marginal mine.
Debeers has said they not interested in marginal mines so we know whats going to happen.

Read the MD and CEO briefs its all in there, just read very very carefully.

I would have thought that the mine would want to hold on to the hospital, get the standards back up.... most mines around the world always have an efficient hospital on their payroll to deal with any accidents that occur on their mines...

If the mine was about to offload these services, why would they be revamping the town pool?

Was just talking to a Alexander Bayer (I think that';s what you call them), he was commenting on how the town of Alex Bay has come to a standstill, PEP stores have pulled put and there is no longer any business's functioning across there..... reckons it's a sad site, the water and power is still for free, the people who were retrenched last year, never left as they have free housing.....some people have lived there all their live and are now living on soup handouts....

..... Saw some "new" contracting people in town ......

wise person who was once in finance commented to me on the reason why DeBeers keeps maintaining the Town of Kleinzee, Golf Course included, he pointed out that this infrastructure was still an asset to the DeBeers Group and to let it go to pot would cost them more dosh in the long term.....

I think Debeers will still be active in the town for a longtime to come, after all if they want to attract skills to their new technology driven mining operations, they will need an attractive town, no modern day professional is gonna relocate  his wife and kids to a debt ridden town with failing infrastructure......

Thought:   What's the big deal with this tea, Green Rooibos, Are we being scammed? Without sugar and milk, it tastes crap! What if some clever chap, drank this stuff one day, realised it tasted like water and thought that the only way to market this stuff was to say it had health benefits..... I wonder when the scientists did the test, did they do those tests on the water part of the tea or the actual physical tea leaves.....

Rooibos was sold very expensive about ten years ago in Germany. As a delicates. We were told how healthy the stuff especialy for the girls because of its ferum.
It made me laugh, because I knew it was the cheap version of tea in ZA and Namibia in the 70s.
Now you get rooibos in EVERY discount supermarket in the flavours vanille, peach, mango, caramel.... Nobody drinks it with milk and sugar.
Nothing special. Just some clips I put in youtube.de

I also think rooibos is overrated, and as far as the "green" version goes - the studies I've seen has been pretty inconclusive....
It does differ from "black tea", though, and as a rule, healthier as well.  I myself cant stand the stuff on its own, but drawing some rooibos with a little piece of cinnamon - now that I can stomache.  I also add rooibos to some of my herbal tea mixes to make them more palatable for people who cant drink bitter medicinal teas (not ideal).

Somebody mentioned throwing a slice of fresh ginger in with it also....

Here's a thought: Rooibos is a wild tea, derived from a wild plant originally found only on the hills north of the Sandveld and the southern regions of Namaqualand. To my recollection it has never been otherwise. In fact the seeds of are so tiny that they require meticulous hand collection if anyone wants to propagate the bush.
How is it then that from such a limited source we can produce amounts of Rooibos sold worldwide in quantities similar to the leaf harvested from the vast tea plantations of Sri Lanka, China and India?

Suddenly my Rooibos tea appeared with mint flavour this morning.....

Feeling fed up, As my main PC at home went down last night with a suspected fried Motherboard..... took her into work this morning, did all the tests including giving her a new CPU fan in her hour of need, alas! I was too late and she passed on to the big Microsoft in the sky about 3 hours ago...... nevertheless, Spirits are high as I have been able to source a twin for her house and it should be here 2morrow....thank Goodness we have a network at home.....

It is meant to be 28 degrees here today, see the early morning mist is heading out to sea....

I have also wondered where all the rooibos tea comes - my guess is that as with so many other foodstuffs we are being told it is rooibos tea but it is rooibos flavoured ceylon tea sold as vanilla/mint/lemon/chai/peach......flavoured rooibos tea.  Bottom line is that you have ceylon tea in disguise in your cup :wow1:

There is more than likely a little backroom on the 3rd floor of the MINGTEE Co. Building in downtown Fuchen that mass produces Rooibos....
