You are going off about a puppy with vagrants....  My God ~  I just got the most disturbing e-mail about 3 white kids found on a dump in Brakpan by the SPCA.  The youngest is 3 years old and the oldest is 9.  The parents are heroin addicts and they just dumped the kids right there!!  How in the name of everything that exists can people do this to their kids.  There are so many people who would give anything in the world just to have a child and these asses breed like rabbits, plunge into the habbit of using drugs and then throw their children away like broken toys!!!  This outrages me to the core.  You should see how these kids look.  I just cried my eyes out.  These parents should be sentenced to death ...  this is an attempt at murder in the worst degree on 3 helpless children.

I am so upset now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is disturbing, really disturbing,  ThatStinks2

Dalene, where did you get the email from, I have emailed the topic on Google and can only find a Facebook reference to it.....

One of the books I have read, about the afterlife and reincarnation, points to the fact, that there is actually no real hell, but our time and deeds on this earth are in fact hell....depending on how you live your life here....

I cannot understand how people can dump newborns in bins and kids on the dumps......

I feel really angry at this tale..... WHY?

Hi Dalene, I think I might have sent you the mail. I got a reply from the persons that were seeking for help in the mail as my wife responded and offered to help. The help seekers told us that the mail was old and the kids have a home now. Praise God!!!!  woo_hoo

I forgot to add this. They did mention that donations would be welcome such as clothing and blankets. I agree with you Dalene, I was mad when I read that mail. As you say, if they are unable to look after the kids due to unemployment, there are other ways and means of handling the situation.  Today's life people have no more Morals or Respect to one another. These kids are traumatised today with all they have been through and need urgent counselling.

Paul, I received the mail this morning from a friend.  That is good to hear that the kids have been placed and have a good home now, however that still does not make good for the fact that the parents have dumped them and nothing has been done to bring them to justice about this all.  It still does not make my anger towards the parents lessen.  Fact remains that those kids have been neglected and emotionally they have been teared up due to the fact of what they had to endure as pure innocent minors.  Could these parents not have taken them to a shelter or to a childrens home and said that they could not take care of them anymore?  Could they not have gotten help in some way?  They could, but they just did not care to do so !!!!

Yes, praise God that these kids are safe and protected now and hopefully loved by whomever are taking care of them.

Were the kids adopted as a family unit?

Don't know  ... don't know either if they have been adopted or just in forster care, but hopefully it would be as a family unit, else the trauma is more severe to them if they were split up.

Paul, also agree with what you said, -  in this case, even though we don't know for sure if the parents were unemployed or not  ~~  fact is, they still had money to pay for their drug habbit instead of allocating the availible funds toward the care and wellfare of their children.

Ooohhhh  -  I am still boiling on the inside  --  if I should come across people like this I will be charged with murder, for I would sure kill them for doing this to kids !!!

Have just spoken to the folk at Brakpan SPCA.  Apparently this happened in mid July.  They are in court today for the case, so the lady to contact (Vicky) is not availible.  This lady whom I spoke to also told me that the parents are trying to brainwash the kids now to say that they have been abducted and have been abused by the SPCA personel and forster parents  -  this happened yesterday, that is why they are in court again today ...  the forster parents are trying to get an urgent interdict against the parents to refuse them visitation to the children, for they are having such a bad influence on the kids.  The mother was apparently also very drunk and disorderly yesterday and sweared like a sailor, yelling at everyone .....

To answer your question, Mike  -  yes, all the kids have been placed at one family, so they have not been split.

In any case, soon the matter will be out of the hands of the SPCA people and then wellfare will deal with it further, so if anyone wants to call you should do so soon.  The lady also said that they will then give info about the wellfare worker who will be handling the case so that further contributions and sponsors can be made if wanted.

Like said, the lady is not availible today, but she will be again on Monday

When I read something like this, I feel extreme sadness, anger, and cant help tears from welling up so I cant see the bloody computer screen.  Why?  It baffles me that I can have such feelings, not even seeing the kids or knowing everything they must have gone through over the last 3-9 YEARS on a daily basis, and yet.... no emotional inkling shown by the parents who clearly should be hanged by the ......

Hey Bertie, my sentiments are the same. This world of ours is getting sicker by the day. People like that should be locked up and never to see the sun again. They don't deserve to breathe as they are oxygen thieves.

You know, I am still so sad about this ... I sit here now and draw up a small list for groceries and a a few other stuff to get for the weekend ....  and my first thought is "what should I get for the kids" ....  My priority, my duty, my love for them as parent, my integrity, my commitment, my responsibility ...  that is why they and Cobus come first  -- as a mother, as a parent it is just natural to feel this way ....  Now I want to know what you call the 'things' like these (I cannot refer to them as anything else) who has children, but they have none of the feelings as listed ...  they come first and last and only they count for themselves in life ....   and my thoughts go back to those kids and I wonder what kind of weekend are they going to have and being children, I know they miss those things that are supposed to be their parents, because they still trust them even with the knowledge that they have been let down so many times ... and those kids will cry for their parents for a long time to come still even if they are loved and protected by good folk now.  I just pray to God that those people can emotionally be strong enough for those kids and support them like they should be supported.

Paul, as for them locked up  -  no, because then they get looked after and fed by our tax money and even later by their own kids tax money  -  I share the sentiment that they should not be allowed to breathe further.  People like that don't deserve to live (I know I am being very judgemental here and playing God in what I am saying, but sorry  -  it is just the way that I feel about this today and I am venting .... )

Dont worry Dalene, I'm sure a lot of us feel the same. We probably dont know the whole story and full circumstances, but NEVER should a child be suffering because of the parents' way of life.  Even a swearing, drinking, mother should know where to draw the line and mother instinct should prevent her from throwing away her own flesh and blood...
Och, it's nauseating. I better go take a sip of my Valerian root tincture to calm down...

@Mike,
I think I've lived in Godzone too long.

@Pepe, Dalene, Bertie et al: addicts are victims too. It becomes a vicious cycle. It's tempting to lash out at offenders but if we want to really change the situation we need to address root causes.

Nations worldwide have been trying to reduce the use of drugs by declaring them illegal. Prohibition simply creates a black market which in turn generates huge wealth for organised crime. Remove the money and the crime rate will collapse, and with it most of our social ills.

That can be simply achieved by making hard drugs free on prescription, provided you register as an addict. This won't change the present addiction rate but it will certainly reduce the uptake of new addicts. Immature personalities, the most likely new addicts, are attracted to drug use by their romantic, dangerous and pleasurable image. Take that away, drop the heavy crime and punishment aspect, leave only the sickie image and youngsters will stampede away in droves.
Much of our crime and prostitution is driven by the need to buy drugs at inflated prices. Remove this need and crime rates will crash. It would also free up police time for other work, reduce the massive costs of crime fighting and we score all round.

The idea is not new. The reason why it hasn't been put into operation is that it is opposed by vested interests: the drug barons on the one side and the over-staffed police resources backed by huge budgets and point-scoring politicians on the other.

Mankind has always known how to combat his social ills. All we lack is the political will.
