Thanks for sharing this with us Mike and the photo's. How can I ever forget the East wind in OM. Like the day Whitey and I had the accident with 33Kv.

Sources inform me that apparently two power poles have gone over in the desert and work to resurrect them can only commence once the winds and sand have stopped blowing...

Might be one of those dark nights again...

On the other hand if the wind settles for the evening, it might be a lekker night for a few beers and braai...

and did we have a interesting day today.
First while at Uub the power went off I wandered to the substation switched over to the back up feeder 5 min later power gone after line patrols it was found that both feeders supplying Uub are down poles broken off at ground level that was uubvley with out power for the day.
While this was happening the two feeders to Town went off and another one to 4 plant and another one to 50 G and, OK that's enough; now we got 4 plant and the mining sites back up and then started with the Town feeders and got them back on line again.
Unfortunately Uub is still without power we will work on that first thing tomorrow morning, then it will be 50G and the other 4 plt feeder

and that's it in a nut shell

will get some pic's later

Great pics.  Thanks for Mike.  Funny enough, one doesn't forget where what in town is.  When looking at the pics, I know exactly where in town they where taken.  For a brief moment it felt like I was back in Oranjemund  image031
Life is given to us one day at a time.  Don't look back and grieve about the past, for it is gone.  Do not be troubled by die future, as God will provide.  Live for today and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering....

ALFIE, I thought you would look after my old car better than that. I'll have to speak to your better half and get her to kick you in the shin..............!!!!!!!!!!

I went for my daily town pool swim this morning, found out that the covers had been pulled over the water..... Sources in the Aquatic pleasure industry informed that the covers were pulled over during yesterdays big wind of 2010 and that they will only be removed once this east wind changes direction.

Through a gap in the covers I could see the floor of the pool, and Oh Boy! is there some major sand sucking to be done....

The dark blue covers had sand and twigs scattered over it....
